Last February 2016, Xiaomi did unveiled their latest Flagship the Mi5 at MWC, and was met with praise by gadget enthusiast alike. Not only that, on the same day, Xiaomi also release the Xiaomi Mi4s, an upgrade of last year’s Mi4 (Flagship of 2015). But this time, it sits at the budget mark, meaning, it’s cheaper than the Mi5 and Xiaomi has said, it is for design budget consumers.
So what is new of the Mi4s?
What other features can you expect of the Mi4s?
What other features can you expect of the Mi4s?
For starters, it jumps to the Snapdragon 808 department, meaning performance will be more competitive with more current generation Smartphones, but not really on the Flagship area. The phone will also come with 3 GB LPDDR3 Dual Channel Memory and64 GB of eMMC Storage, there is also support of Expandable storage via MicroSDSupport (Hybrid Dual SIM Slot – Sim 2). The build quality also has stepped up dramatically, making use of Aluminum Alloy materials with Dual Glass Design. The phone also retains the candy bar design and also the 5.0 inch FHD 1080p Display.
Xiaomi also added support for Trust Zone Technology, which is basically Fingerprint Scanner at the rear of the phone. In terms of camera, it will have a 13 MP Phase Detection Camera with a large Aperture and is capable of slow motion 720p HD videos and 1080p natively. The Camera will also feature Dual LED (Dual Tone) Flash. The front Camera is a 5.0 MP shooter which supports 1080p video and also come with beauty mode.
USB Type C (reversible connector) is also added, this enables support for Quick Charge 2.0 of the 3260mAh built in battery. Dual WiFi 5GHz is also supported and also VoLTE (Cat4 LTE speeds up to 150/50Mbps).
The Mi4s wasn’t featured on MWC with the Mi5, but it’s clear that Xiaomi intended it to bridge the Price Gap. Although the Mi5 already cost half of most flagships anyway. The Mi4s will serve to satisfy the appetites of the budget users, anyway, the Mi4s still offers some of the perks of the Mi5, the build quality is one of it’s biggest changes, making it more premium and a big value.
